Viking Dress Gyda Grey

One of our design team’s absolute favorites, the Viking Dress Gyda, suitable for Viking as well as early medieval reenactment, uses a mix of stylistic elements from this era, paying appropriate tribute to female forms through an optimal fit.

Gyda, in the Old Norse root meaning “goddess” or “the beautiful,” is therefore a more than fitting name for the dress as well as the wearer.

The shoulder straps, as an authentic and often used element of women’s clothing in the Middle Ages, give the dress a very feminine presence.

The lacing on the sides with their loop guidance makes it possible to create an optimal fit.

The coarse and unkempt pure cotton fabric used highlights the rough authenticity of this era and the garment through its original texture.
